Heriot-Watt University’s Mathematics-Driven Innovation Centre, M-DICE, is holding its official Launch and Showcase Event. 

The event will take place on Monday 1st December 2025 from 12noon at the National Robotarium on the Heriot-Watt Campus, Riccarton, Edinburgh. A buffet lunch will be provided. 

The M-DICE Launch and Showcase will provide an exciting opportunity to explore the value of mathematical sciences in industry, business and government and how it can contribute to interdisciplinary and industrial problem-solving by providing state-of-the-art mathematical knowledge and techniques tailored to the challenges of the 21st century. 

The programme will highlight M-DICE’s achievements to date, its strategic vision, and its role as a hub for Knowledge Exchange (KE) within the UK and the Scottish innovation environment. It will also reflect on the recent findings from the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences, which quantify the economic value of mathematical sciences to both the UK and Scotland. 

We are honoured to welcome Professor Dame Alison Etheridge FRS, the President of the Academy for the Mathematical Sciences, to open the event, which will also offer ample discussion time and valuable networking opportunities.
