Lauren has a background in mathematics and engineering, studying Mathematics at the University of Strathclyde and completing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow. Drawn to the real-world impact of mathematics, she supports and facilitates activities that bring researchers and practitioners together to tackle challenges. 

Lauren is also the Knowledge Exchange Manager at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) and is actively involved in shaping the national landscape for mathematical sciences knowledge exchange. She sits on the Executive Team of the UK Knowledge Exchange Hub for Mathematical Sciences, serves as ICMS representative in V-KEMS (the Virtual Forum for Knowledge Exchange in Mathematical Sciences), is a Board Member of the Newton Gateway to Mathematics, sits on the Steering Committee for the UK European Study Groups with Industry, and works closely with Innovate UK Business Connect.
