Lauren has a background in mathematics and engineering, first studying Mathematics at the University of Strathclyde and then completing her PhD in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Glasgow.

Throughout her research, she worked on multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with academic and industry partners, applying mathematics to help solve real-world problems.

Lauren is also the Knowledge Exchange Manager at the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences and plays a key role in the wider knowledge exchange community, working closely with Innovate UK Business Connect as well as sitting on the Advisory Board for the Newton Gateway to Mathematics and the Executive Team for the UK Knowledge Exchange Hub for Mathematical Sciences.
