Dr Simone Conte
Consultant
Simone Conte holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of St Andrews and an MSc in Mathematics from Heriot-Watt University. He is a trustee at The Edinburgh Remakery, a charity focused on reducing waste by providing repair and reuse services and training to communities.
With over a decade of experience in designing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems, Simone specialises in building reliable software, reproducible processes, and optimisation algorithms. His most recent work has focused on data linkage, applying machine learning to enterprise problems, and optimising simulations for CO2 reduction.

Dr Jenny Power
Innovation Expert
Jenny completed her PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Bath, specialising in radiotherapy treatment planning optimisation. She enjoys using mathematics to solve real-world problems, and has knowledge in mathematical modelling, PDEs, finite element methods, inverse problems, optimisation, optimal control and physics-informed neural networks. She is also an experienced maths-communicator and has presented to a wide range of audiences, from primary school children all the way to members of parliament.
